Administrative / Biographical History

MRCS Eng 1877; LRCP Edin 1879.

Golland, the son of Walker Golland, joined MRI in 1872 and worked as dresser for Edward Lund. He was a pupil at Manchester Medical School and in 1877 was appointed physician's assistant at MRI. Golland was later accident house surgeon there and also house surgeon at Bolton Infirmary. Golland was surgeon at Altrincham Hospital and Dispensary and worked in general practice in Altrincham. He was medical officer of health for Altrincham before being appointed consultant surgeon at Altrincham Hospital. Golland was a member of Manchester Medical Society and wrote articles for Manchester University Medical Students Gazette. He died on 14 November 1941 aged 86.
