Beech was born on 30 May 1957. After studying in London he held house positions King's College Hosptial, St Helen's Hospital Hastings, Hammersmith Hospital and Middlesex Hospital. He was then appointed anaesthetic registrar on rotation in London and Surrey before moving to Manchester in 1986 where he became anaesthetic senior registrar on rotation. In 1989 Beech was appointed consultant anaesthetist for South Manchester University Hospitals Trust, and honorary clinical lecturer in anaesthesia at the University of Manchester. Beech was a fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and a member of the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, the Anaesthetic Research Society and Manchester Medical Society . He died in the mid-1990s.
