Administrative / Biographical History

Broadhurst graduated MB ChB from Manchester in 1923. He held house posts at MRI and worked as a ship's surgeon. He went into general practice at Swinton in 1928, and also trained as an anaesthetist. He was honorary anaesthetist at Salford Royal Hospital and the Eccles and Patricroft Hospital. In 1948 he was made consultant anaesthetist at Park Hospital, Trafford. In 1964 he was president of the section of anaesthesia of the Manchester Medical Society .
