Arup Kumar Banerjee, b.1935

Dr Banerjee studied medicine at the Calcutta Medical School. He was a consultant physician at Bolton General Hospital from 1973 to 1999, specialising in geriatrics.He has also served as Director of Elderly Services at the University of South Manchester and Clinical Director of Elderly Services, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust He was been a honorary lecturer at the University of Manchester and a visiting honorary professor at the University of Bolton. He is a former president of Manchester Medical Society and of the British Geriatrics Society.
