Administrative / Biographical History

Anderton was born on 23 August 1872. Anderton trained at Owens College, after holding a house physician post at MRI he became a RMO at Manch Union Infirm, Crumpsall. In 1906 he was appointed honorary physician to Chorlton on Medlock Dispensary. After two years in this post he resigned to concentrate on his posts as demonstrator in morbid anatomy at Manch Univ and pathological registrar at MRI. In 1915 Anderton was appointed lecturer in morbid anatomy and curator of the Pathological Museum at the University of Manchester, and honorary pathologist at MRI. He later became consultant pathologist at MRI. Anderton was a member of the Medico-Legal Society and Manchester Medical and Pathological Societies. He died on 10 November 1954.
