Campion, the son of Henry Campion, was a prominent member of the old Odonotological Society, which became a section of the Royal Society of Medicine in 1908. He was honorary surgeon at Manchester Dental Hospital, and later consulting dental surgeon. In 1923 he was elected president of the British Dental Association at Manchester. In 1936 the University of Manchester awarded Campion an MSc honoris causa.
