Case register of Nurse Harris

Ms register of cases attended by Nurse Harris on behalf of the Maternity Nursing Association, London (30 May-2 November 1921), recording the name, age and address of each patient, the number of previous labours and miscarriages, the date and hour of the midwife's arrival at the delivery, the date and hour of birth, the presentation of the child on birth, the duration of each stage of labour, if there were any complications during or after labour, the sex and weight of the child, whether the child was premature, the name of the doctor if called, the name of the midwife that delivered the child, the date of the midwife's last visit and further remarks on the condition of the mother and child in the days following the birth.

Nurse Harris (fl. 1910-1930) worked for the Maternity Nursing Association in London. The Maternity Nursing Association, which was based in two flats in King's Cross Road, London was started by Miss Edith May in 1892. The aim of the association was to enable new and expectant mothers to be attended in their own homes by fully qualified nurses and to receive pupils for training.
