Case registers of various midwives of Warwickshire

Scope and Content

This collection comprises 13 ms registers of cases attended by various midwives, including Dorothy Wright, E. Schofield, M. G. Yeoman, Winifred Douglas, A. M. Wilson and M. E. Burroughs, whilst practicing in and around Bishops Itchington, Wellesbourne, Temple Grafton, Stratford-upon-Avon, Shipston-on-Stour, Lemington Spa and Radford, Warwickshire (5 August 1958-8 November 1974), recording the name, age, address and pregnancy history of each patient, the date of booking, the date of delivery, the name of the doctor if booked or called, whether antenatal care was provided by a clinic, midwife or doctor, the date and hour of the midwives arrival at the delivery, the presentation of the child on birth, the date and hour of the birth, the weight of the child, the sex of the child, whether the child was born living or dead, who the child was delivered by, the date of the midwives last visit or discharge from hospital, the condition of the mother and child then, whether the infant was being breast fed and if any drugs were administered during or after labour, including analgesics, as well as any further remarks on the delivery, found together with a photograph of two unidentified midwives in uniform holding infants in front of a Christmas tree (circa. 1960-1970).
