Scope and Content

Ms register of cases attended by Evelyn Sandford, midwife around the area of Weston Super Mare, Somerset (4 February-20 September 1948), listing the name, age, address, pregnancy history and expected date of confinement of each patient, the date and hour of her arrival at the delivery, the presentation of the child, the date and hour of the birth of the child, the sex of the child and whether born living or dead, whether the child was premature, the name of the doctor if called, if there were any complications during or after labour, the date and the condition of the mother and child on her last visit, as well as any further remarks. There are only eight cases recorded in this register. Also includes five blank midwives notification forms.
