Case book of Mary Frances Crighton, 1941-1942

Scope and Content

Ms pupil case book, including notes, charts and graphs, compiled by Mary France Crighton, pupil midwife of the Maternity Nursing Association in London (4 July 1941-17 April 1942), recording the name, age, address, religion and pregnancy history of each patient that she attended in childbirth, as well as the name and occupation of their husband, alongside the results of examinations carried out during the antenatal period, also including detailed reports on the progress and duration of labour, the condition of the patient during labour, the condition of the infant on birth, the condition of the mother and infant throughout the lying-in period and the nature of postnatal care that she was involved in providing.
