Scope and Content

Ms notebook, containing notes on midwifery lectures, written by N. Gleane during her time training to become a nurse in Leytonstone, London (16 April 1925-7 October 1925), covering the management of normal labour and prolonged labour, disorders of the puerperium, infant care and nutrition, the treatment and prevention of injuries of new born babies, the treatment and prevention of childhood diseases, digestive disturbances, artificial respiration, care of miscarriages, symptoms and treatment of haemorrhage, symptoms and treatment of postpartum haemorrhages, how to carry out abdominal examinations during pregnancy, physiology of pregnancy, the anatomy of the pelvis, the anatomy of the foetal skull, the diagnosis of pregnancy and pregnancy complications.
