Russell Gordon Lindsay, b 1955.

Lindsay gained his medical qualifications from the University of Durham in 1979 and held junior anaesthetic appointments in Dundee. He came to Manchester in 1984 as senior registrar in anaesthetics to the North Western Health Authority, and in 1987 was appointed consultant anaesthetist to Stepping Hill Hospital Stockport.
