Includes 'In pursuance of the gracious Declaration of his most Excellent Majesty & our Soveraigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God King of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland Defender of the faith &c Given under his Majesties Signe Manuall & privie signet at his Court at Breda the 4th/14 of Aprill last,’ Signed: ‘Richard Baxter (…) Sil Taylor Justice of the Peace of the Cittie of Westminster’

Note

Argent notes: 'King Charles II issued the Declaration of Breda in April 1660, immediately before his Restoration. It offered a general amnesty and a “liberty to tender consciences”, which promise was never fulfilled because the ecclesiastical settlement of 1662 proved harsh.'
