Scope and Content

Discussion of metaphysical and theological subjects, between Baxter and one of his opponents, on the following questions:

f 69v: ‘Q. whether the will have not inclinations, habits or dispositions distinct from naturall powers & acts?’ f 84v: ‘Q. whether God can effectually cause the will to act freely?’ f 86v: ‘Q. Whether the Apocrypha be of Authority in the Church as Canon moram. Negative’ f 90v: ‘Q. Whether (Supposing the Law of nature) we must finally appeale to Scripture as the Sufficient Rules, in all Controversies of Religion. Affirmative’

The greater part of these papers (in large quarto) was written by Baxter; the rest, at various intervals and on the same pages, by another hand.
