Scope and Content

Articles of agreement whereby Baxter and his step-mother let, for three years, at £30 per annum rent, certain houses and lands at Eaton Constantine, in Salop (excepting so much as was reserved for his [step-]mother’s residence) to Edward Huxley. Counterpart, with Huxley’s mark. Includes: ‘Imprimis it is agreed upon by and betweene the said parties And the said Eliezer Careswell (for the Consideracons hereafter in these Articles expressed)’ f 318r: ‘Sealed and deliver’d in the presents of Frances Careswell, Mary Careswell, Richard James, Vallentine Brooke’ f 319v: ‘Edwd. Huxley Agreement’
