Scope and Content

Anonymous case of conscience, concerning a woman who had come from the Plantations to be cured of a disease acquired of her husband. The consultation was to be at ‘Mr Case’s’. Quarto.

'Sir I must entreate you for a speciall friend to be one of the 3 or 4 that shall meet at Mr Cases for the resolving of this case of conscience (secretly). A pious woman in the plantations hath a sensuall husband, and Adulterer, but lamenteth it an loveth his wife; she catcheth the Gonorrhæa Virulenta of him: She cometh over into England to be cured and is cured:’ f 405v: ‘For Mr Silvester’
