Scope and Content

Concluding portion of Baxter’s Generall Thought on the Revelation (DWL/RB/1/35). These leaves were found among loose fragments, and could not be inserted in their proper place in that volume, it was written after both of Baxter’s publications against Beverley and seems to be unfinished.

‘V. That Peter (2 Peter 3) & Paul describe the expected Coming of Christ, at the Conflagration, & intimate no other 1000 yeares before save only his prospering the Gospell & Ruleing in soules & in his Church, as he doth in Various Degrees of dispensation.’

Note

Items 263 and 32 concluded. This paraphrase is an entirely new work; not that contained in Baxter’s Paraphrase on the New Testament, 1685, (AGM, 122)
