Scope and Content

The opinion of Sir Edmund Saunders (later Chief Justice) on ten points of Baxter’s Case, considered under the Conventicle Act.‘ (1.) If hee hath the Bishops Licence & bee not a Curate Lecturer or other promoted Ecclesiaticall person menconed in the Act I conceive hee may preach occasionall Sermons without conforming & not incurre any Penalty within this Act.’
