Scope and Content

An ‘address and request’ to King Charles II. From the Non-conforming Clergy, expressing thanks for his Majesty's proposed intervention and desire for further relief from ecclesiastical imposition until the next synod. Neat hand resembling that of John Howe and endorsed by Baxter. This is the second paper in the anonymous, two papers of proposals concerning the discipline and ceremonies of the Church of England; humbly presented to His Majesty, by the reverend ministers of the Presbyterian perswasion [sic] (1661) which is ascribed by Wing to Baxter.'
