Baxter's proofs against the false accusations levelled against him:
- ‘1˚ I do oft in this very booke owne the Constitution (of the State, &) of the Church as it Consisteth of true Parish Churches & Pastors, & of Diocesanes over them as Successurs of Apostolike men.’
- f 348v: ‘Reasons against such charges uppon mens unexpressed Thoughts.’
- f 349r: ‘If I had meant it of any English men, it had not therfore bin Seditious.’
- f 349v: ‘It is no Sedition which is but Consonant to the Church & most approved writers.’
