Scope and Content

Objections against several parts of the Common Prayer Book. The original of part of ‘the Exceptions’ prepared by Baxter, and printed in Rel. ii. 308 & viz. 8 lines from bottom of page 313 to the word ‘speaking’ in last line, but 2 of page 315.

In an unknown hand. Includes: ‘In the private Baptisme It Is disorderly to make the Godfathers and the Godmothers, renew solemly the Covenant engagement of the child, when before we are to (certify them that all is well done and according to due order) and the solemnizing of the Covenant is the principall part of baptisme.’
