Scope and Content

Baxter writing under the pseudonym Gildas Salvianus and appealing 'To the Lords, Knights & Gentlemen of England' to give generously to the poor. Comprises seven chapters and prefatory remarks. In Baxter's own hand. The author urges his readers to believe in "Christ who assureth them that by what they faithfully give to the poore, they give incomparably more to themselves, as giving it to him that will reward them".
