Black’s comments relate to part of the manuscript which no longer survives: 'Johannis [Thornborrow] Wigorniensis Episcopi, literae notificantes scilicet Richardum Baxterum ad ordinem diaconatus admisisse. [23rd Dec 1638] Original on parchment: with the Bishop’s signature & his seal in red wax, but broken.' See art. 124.
