Scope and Content

An answer to a paper by Faldo with the title, according to Baxter, of ‘A postscript answer to Mr B[axter]’s postscript.’ This under the heading ‘An answer to Mr Baxter’s postscript…,’. The ‘Answer’ was a reply to Baxter’s postscript at the end of his Whether parish congregations be true Christian churches (AGM, 119), headed A postscript on a Book of J.F.’s. The Book of Mr. J.F.’s’ appears to have been Vindiciae revindicatae… which was a sequel to A vindication of the late … John Owen…, both of which, by the time Baxter wrote this item, he believed to have been written by John Faldo. The item seems to have been intended for publication.
