Scope and Content

A fragment of Baxter’s exchange of letters with William Penn, regarding Quakerism. Beginning with a quotation: ‘is an ordinary fearfull swearer; ffor he thus frequently appealeth to the dreadfull God, the searcher of hearts, & to his Judgment, Concerning the truth of what he saith:’ f 10v: ‘If W. Pen largely mind Muggleton of this, may I not desire him to consider it well himselfe: & to be afraid of the sin of Heresie.’
