Joseph Alleine’s An Alarme to Unconverted Sinners first appeared in 1672 and to it Baxter contributed a preface. Baxter also wrote the first chapter of Theodosia Alleine et al The Life and Death of Mr Joseph Alleine. Late teacher of the church of Taunton in Somerset-shire; assistant to Mr Newton (1672) which was published anonymously.
