A bill intended for the unification of the King's protestant subjects to the Church of England. f 269v: ‘The Originall Bill for writeing his Majesties Protestant subjects’ and 'A Bill for uniting of his Majesties Protestant Subjects to the Church of England Originall Offered to 2 Severall Parliaments in Anno 1678. 1679 (Nottingham … Oxford 1680)'. With notes for alterations made by Mr Roger Morrice, and his historical notes prefixed in 1688 referring to Sir Edward Harley, Daniel Finch, Sir Thomas Clarges and Sir Edward Dering. Not in Baxter’s hand. Another copy is in DWL, Morrice MSS., O. viii. Black supposes this to be 'written by the same Amanuensis as Morrice’s great folio MS, but the notes are chiefly in Morrice’s shorthand. Endorsed by Morrice.' Includes: ‘Whereas the peace of the State is highly concerned in the peace of the Church, which therefore at all times, but especially in this Conjuncture is most necessary to be preserved’
