Simon Griffith was a native of Llanymawddwy (born there in 1809). He gives an account of his family. He was for some time in the service of the Bank of England and a member of the Methodist Welsh Church at Jewin Crescent, London. There is a short elegy by him to Benjamin Lewis, one of the deacons there, a name not mentioned in the Jubilee volume published in 1929. The remaining pages are devoted to notes on sermons heard in Jewin.
