Taylor studied medicine at Owens College where he was Robert Platt Physiological Exhibitor. Taylor was a member of the Manchester Pathological and Literary Societies. He was assistant RMO at the Royal National Sanatorium in Ireland and AMO to Larch Hill Sanatorium before settling in general practice in Stockport and Manchester. He died in Marple on 18 July 1939.
