MB ChB Manch 1907, MD 1909, DPH 1909.

In 1909, Thompson was the first woman to receive the MD from the University of Manchester. After studying medicine in Manchester, Thompson gained clinical experience at the City of London Infirmary and was pathological and clinical assistant at Christie Hospital, Manchester. She later went to practice in Paignton with her husband John Thompson (see below). Thompson was also the first woman magistrate to sit on the Paignton Bench. Thompson died in February 1940.
