Saul gained his medical education at Manchester and Charing Cross Hospital, London, before settling as a general practitioner in Withington in south Manchester. He was medical referee to the British Legal Assurance Company. Saul died in Nice on 5 March 1933. His wife, Helene Goldberg Saul, and his brother Victor S. Saul.
