William Cynwal (d. 1587 or 1588), poet, of Ysbyty Ifan, Denbighshire in north Wales. Much of his poetry, written mainly in strict metre, comprised eulogies, elegies and poems of love, religion and satire. He also produced works on heraldry and Welsh genealogy.
