Scope and Content

Two ross drawings side by side: the brain from below showing the tumour in situ on the left of the brain and the tumour itself attached to the nerve. Annotations on the back read "Trigeminal neurinomas Jefferson. Mr patient's surname 47 14.1.53 PPH Manchester University", "53102606", "Jefferson fig 14 (this has been put in cut with another fig) Chapt II EW. Congress 8550", and "Fig.15 Case 6 if block maker prefers to this drawing in two & print one section above the other instead of side by side that is ok. Author".

This image features as plate 47 in the publication G. Jefferson, 'The trigeminal neurinomas', Clinical Neurosurgery, 1955, 1:11-54, in which it is described as a "Reconstruction of dumb-bell trigeminal neurinoma mainly in Meckel's cave - removed by transtemporal and transtentorial approach".

Initialled by the artist at the bottom in the centre.
