Scope and Content

Ross drawing of brainstem and base of brain with the following labels: tumour filling Cavum Meckelii, 5th root, 7th & 8th nerves, and 6th nerves. A second ross drawing is affixed in the top left corner giving a sagittal view of the area with the 3rd nerve and the 6th nerve labelled. Annotations on the back read "Jefferson 5th N neuroma".

This drawing features as plate 41 accompanying case 2 in the publication G. Jefferson, 'The trigeminal neurinomas', Clinical Neurosurgery, 1955, 1:11-54, in which it is described as a "neurinoma mainly in the posterior fossal but also in Meckel's cave".

Signed by the artist at the bottom in the middle.
