Scope and Content

Ink drawing at operation after the right frontal lobe has been removed with the falx labelled and an outline sketch of the patient's head in the bottom left corner to show the position of the operative incision. Annotations on the back read "Jefferson excision of frontal lobe".

This image features in the publication G. Jefferson, 'Tumours of the frontal lobe', Postgraduate Medical Journal 1950, 26(293) pp.133-9, in which it is described as a "sketch of a right frontal lobectomy showing the bare floor of the anterior fosaa falx and left anterior cerebral artery".
