Scope and Content

Three Ross drawings mounted together. The upper image is of the optic nerves and the chiasma and the lower two are post mortem sections of the brain showing the tumour in relation to the right optic nerve. Annotations on the back read " Patient's name 9.7.1936 calcifying astrocytoma" and "Mr Jefferson MRI Fig.4".

This image features as figure 212 in the publication G. Jefferson, 'Doyne Lecture: On compression and invasion of the optic nerves and chiasma by neighbouring gliomas', Transactions of the Ophthalmological Society, 1945, 65, pp.262-304, in which it is accompanied by the following description: "The chiasma burled and right optic nurve compressed by glioma".
