(i) 1-48 Delicate negotiations between the City Council and the College authorities over Bishop's Park and Pen'rallt sites (no. 47 is especially important). 1900-1905. The late Sir Henry Lewis of Belmont (from whom most of these papers have come) was a personality of great importance at this juncture, being Mayor of the City and a prominent member of the College Council. David Owen, solicitor and City Councillor, was a pungent critic of Corporation policy.
(ii) 49-70 The agitation over roofing slates, the Building Committee and the Architect (Mr. Hare) having chosen Precelly slates in preference to those of Penrhyn. The question was mooted in Councils and newspapers for months in 1908.
