by noblemen, gentry, & c, mainly from county Anglesey in support of an application to Parliament to make "an Embankment or Dam with a Lock and DrawBridge over and across an arm of the sea ..... called the Streight of Menai and a new road thro' certain Lands on each side of the said Embankment"; appeal for a "grant of public money to effect so public a benefit"; also an appeal to the Parliament of Ireland for the same purpose.
