H.O. Hughes was for a considerable time in London acting as private secretary to Lord Rhondda (Mr. D.A.Thomas) : in consequence there are a number of plays having an English setting and atmosphere. But he did not neglect subjects drawn from his study and observations of the Welsh countryside, and seemed to have a strong predilection in favour of historical studies, as witness his two plays on the Glyndwr period (3507-8) and the two on the Cefn Ydfa tragedy(3509-3510).
Plays, dialogues, & c by the late Mr.H.O.Hughes of Cefnmawr, Llangaffo, author of Yr Unig Fab, Y Melinydd & c
