Anglesey Party Election, 1886. Return of expenses of Thomas, Lewis, Esqre. (father of Sir Henry Lewis). Total amounted to £859.3.3. Thomas Lewis was the Liberal Gladstonian candidate, and was returned by 3727 votes to 3420 given to the Conservative Capt. Prichard-Rayner. On account of the split in the Liberal ranks over Home Rule for Ireland, this was the most successful attempt made by the Conservatives in Anglesey in recent times.
