Scope and Content

My dear Miss Faithfull, It was very kind of you to write & of Mr [Revand/Renand] to think of me at such a deeply trying time. I hope you will all be supported and comforted through the sad work of tomorrow. The last letter which I received from your dear sister was one of kind sympathy, written last year, just after I had been thrown into distress by the last bereavement in our family -It seems strange that I should now be writing thus to you and Mr [Revand]. I think I can in some measure imagine how much comfort you must receive from the knowledge of the state of mind in which your loved one who has left you for the present; had long been: it makes all the difference to those who remain. & this is no doubt a case in which you all feel ____ for thankfulness on behalf of the departed one, for she must have had (as regards herself) a 'desire to depart & to be with Christ'. I hope that both you & Mr [Revand] will find your health bettered by some rest & change of air.

I remain most sincerely yours Aberdeen.
