Scope and Content

My dear Emily, I am glad Mrs Coddington is on the whole pleased with the 'Hailybury Memorials'. The book is published by Miss Constable & Co. of 14 Parliament Street, Westminster. They undertake all the risk & exposure, &, on the understanding that they do so, we the Contributors are not paid a farthing for our trouble. Mrs Coddington should write to them and offer a photograph of Dr Batter's portrait and a list of any ____ which she may have discovered. Julia is writing to you & will tell you about ourselves. Believe me always, your affectionate brother Monier Monier Williams. [printed in black, but crossed out, it says '88, Onslow Gardens, SW.']
