As to the point of difference between us, I doubt if you accurately understand my position. I do not profess to approve or like a sate of things in which the clergy can act against the law as the law itself is left doubtful. But I _____ a mutual toleration as being the best practical policy at the present time. The illegal act &, of such it be, of a few clergymen and, still more their disloyalty to their Bishops is an evil. But so is an _____style of [partners?/ parishes?]; - say I think it is the greater Evil of the two, and, what is now it does not) ____ the other evil.
