Scope and Content

My dear Miss Grief

I hope soon to put the Scottish dialogues of '_____' into an English cheer which I have heard from many quarters is necessary. I do not intend however to alter the localities of the scenes which for many reasons would be inconvenient & I think quite uncalled for. I am much obliged To Miss Faithfull for her offer to help & for the kind interest which she expresses. I have not had the pleasure of reading his works but shall enquire for them. I have been something of an invalid for the last few weeks so ___ exam this ___ ____ Mrs ____'s acquaintance which I owe to you has been a great pleasure to me. Yours my dear Miss Grief very truly MM Brewster

Any alterations or additions I would of course prefer doing for myself.

Written at Kirkcaldy. MM Brewster [written in top left hand corner on the diagonal]
