Scope and Content

Dear Miss Faithfull, My dear loved wife is in a little paper of pencil memorandums, expressed a wish that after her death I [should] give you the mourning ring she had for her precious sister Isabella - I have therefore handed it over to Fanny [Hanbury] who will keep it for you [until] you see her - I am sure it will (though of no great value) have a double interest for you - I cannot say how I miss the dear partner of my life. But she is happy & I try to say with success 'Thy will be done' - I may hope that by God's help & way when I am called from this life, be as well prepared for the next change as I feel sure she was. Believe me Yours very true. Cranworth.

Paper has '40 Upper Brook St. W' printed on it in black ink.
