Appreciated generous offer to return contribution but cannot accept it. Feels previous letter was tactless; perhaps 'I thought of my Quaker ancestors and how they obtained their religious privileges, by making themselves, certainly most offensive and obstinate'. Does not wish to cast a slur on 'quiet work' of the Society, and would like more information about it.
