Mrs Hertha Ayrton to LSWS

Ayrton was a distinguished Girton student, née Marks, who in 1885 married WE Ayrton. She sends her resignation with regret but is opposed to the policy of actively aiding a candidate of a government which refuses the vote to women; the Society should confine itself to propaganda work at elections.
