Mrs Alderton to Miss Palliser

Miss Watson formed branch committee of Central Society at Colchester about a year before with Mrs Cuthbert as Secretary and Mrs Alderton as member of Committee. Mrs Alderton recently received parcel and letters from Mrs Cuthbert asking her to take over as Secretary as she would be away for some time. Impossible owing to lack of time, but will keep books etc. until Secretary is appointed. No committee meeting has been held since original one. Offers services as speaker; already speaks for Women's Liberal Federation. (note added by Miss Palliser to say organiser will be sent; Colchester which is under Central Society could become independent if preferred; glad to accept her as speaker).
