Mrs Paik Gen Lim Wee (Chinese woman barrister) to Feaver of the Fawcett Society. Regretting that she cannot address a meeting of the Society as she is leaving the country. Note attached: Mrs Lim Wee is a Chinese-Malayan whose family has lived in Malaya for generations. After her university career at Girton she followed the profession of her famous father and read for the bar at Lincoln's Inn. She is now the only Chinese woman at the English bar and recently appeared in wig and gown at the Privy Council Judicial Committee's hearing of a petition for leave to appeal in the case of the Chinese girl accused of having in her possession a hand grenade for which she was sentenced to death for banditry in Malaya.
