Scope and Content

Report compiled by Mrs J. Shorney of her visit to Sweden to study the role of the midwife as a practitioner as recipient of the 1983 Travel Award issued jointly by Johnson and Johnson and the Royal College of Midwives, including comparison of the training and roles undertaken by Swedish and British midwives and details of working conditions and maternity services in Sweden.

Mrs J. Shorney (fl. 1970-1990) was a midwife who received a Travel Award from Johnson and Johnson for a report that she wrote on the working conditions of midwives in Sweden.
